Philipsburg Main Street Program Announces Halloween Parade Results PDF Print E-mail

 PHILIPSBURG, PA: The Philipsburg Main Street Program wants to thank everyone who braved the snow and the cold to participate in the annual Harvest Fest which was held in on Saturday, October 29th in downtown Philipsburg.

They are also pleased to announce the winners of the Halloween Costume and Pumpkin Carving contest. Medals were awarded for first, second, and third place in each division. Main Street Program volunteers judged the participants based on specific criteria; those with the highest point totals were the winners. Each participant received a treat bag and was able to trick or treat in downtown. The bags and candy were sponsored by numerous local businesses.

By category, the awards went to:

Age 2 and Under- 1st- Kadence hazel, 2nd- Cameron Scott, 3rd- Zaiden Riggins

Ages 3-5 (Preschool)- 1st- Maddox Hampton, 2nd- Trygve Swinehart, 3rd- Jordan Walker

Kindergarten and First Grade- 1st- Grace McClure, 2nd- Kinley Bender, 3rd- Marlee Butterworth

Second and Third Grade- 1st- Luke Vadalla, 2nd- Caleb Pellerite, 3rd- Carter Webster

Fourth, Fifth, and Sixth Grade- 1st- Kyleigh Conklin, 2nd- Ainsley Shedlock, 3rd- Bethany Boulton

Junior/Senior High- 1st- Sarah Bainey, 2nd- Dayton Daly, 3rd- Nick Ragan; Groups- 1st- Pirates, 2nd- Salt, Pepper, and Paprika, 3rd- Mario, Luigi, and Mushroom

Adults- 1st- Angela Deio, 2nd- Melissa Webster, 3rd- Karen Swinehart.  

In the Pumpkin Carving Contest awards went to:

12 and Under 1st Place- Tiffany Bell

2nd Place (tie)– Tanner Ricotta and Mia Bell

3rd Place- Bethany Boulton

13 and over- 1st Place- South Hills, Philipsburg.

The Main Street Program would like to thank those who participated and for all of the volunteers on the day of the event. Harvest Fest and the Halloween Parade are held each year on the last Saturday in October. For future event information visit www.PhilipsburgPA.org .

 The Philipsburg Revitalization Corporation is a non-profit charitable organization as defined in section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code.  The PRC and the Moshannon Valley Economic Development Partnership jointly operate the Philipsburg Main Street Program which is funded through community support of businesses and individuals. The program receives technical support from the Pennsylvania Downtown Center.

10:00 4:00: Vendors Open, 112 E Presqueisle Street

11:00 12:00: Parade Registration Begins at the Philipsburg Senior
Center, 300 N Front St. (Only those wishing to have their costumes
judged need to register)

11:00 Noon: Pumpkin Carving Entries due at Main Street Office, 203 N Front Street (Categories- 12 & Under, Over 12)

11:30 PM: Front Street Closed for Parade; Parade Line Up Begins
at Philipsburg Senior Center; Treat Bags and Maps
Distributed

12:00 PM: Halloween Parade from Philipsburg Towers to West
Presqueisle Street

12:30-2:00: Trick or Treat in Downtown (designated businesses)

1:30 PM: Awards Ceremony- Costumes and Pumpkin Carving at
203 N Front Street (1st, 2nd, and 3rd Place medals in 10
categories)

2:00- 4:00: Halloween Party for all ages at Moshannon Valley
AmVets- Free movie, popcorn, hot dogs, and treats

2:00 PM: Front Street re-opened

4:00-5:30: Haunted House- American Legion Post 437, 315 E
Presqueisle Street (Free, Donations appreciated)
